Speaking at the occasion, Kailash Katkar, MD & CEO, Quick Heal Technologies Limited said; “Besides providing good education, it is our prime responsibility as responsible parents and teachers to help our children focus on studies especially in their growing years of attaining adolescence. This is also a crucial time of the age, upon which their future depends on.” He further added; “Through our counselling sessions, we highlight the importance of their crucial years to students and encourage them to stay focused on their studies. Our counsellors also help those students who do not have a casual environment at home and provide them support in dealing with such situation.”

Another students from standard 9th said; “I used to live in a state of a depression during chaos and financial problems in my family. The counselling sessions not only helped me in coming out of my psychological dejection but also gave me guidance, with which I could able to change the situation at home. It has also helped me in focusing on my studies.”

‘Shaalangan’ further has two activities under it – ‘Life Skill Training’ and ‘Counselling Sessions’. Under the ‘Life Skill Training’ program, Quick Heal has adopted 27 Municipal Corporation schools in Pune and has conducted ‘Life Skill Training’ sessions focused on imparting good values to students from 9th standard. Quick Heal Foundation started this program in June 2015 and till September 2016 has reached out to 6,000 students from 27 Pune Municipal Corporation schools. Quick Heal Foundation has been supported by 35 volunteers to accomplish the objectives of this program.

The objective behind engaging students from this age group is primarily to address teen age issues one faces during this age because of the psychological, physiological, and emotional progression and to maintain emotional balance and focus of education. Some children also come from underprivileged family backgrounds and therefore, usually the parents are also not aware of the importance of discussing such crucial subjects with children. These sessions have been helping students to continue to focus on their studies and stay away from indulging into unnecessary distractions in this phase.
